Information voluntarily provided when a visitor purchases a book, submits a contact or speaking-inquiry form, asks about an organizational order, submits a family story or historical material, requests educator or press materials, or communicates by email. 

This information may include a name, email address, organization, shipping address, order information, message, photographs, files, and other information the visitor chooses to provide. 

The website and its service providers may also collect limited technical information needed for security, functionality, and basic analytics. 

How We Use Information 

Process and fulfill orders; send confirmations and shipping information; respond to questions and requests; coordinate visits, events, interviews, and partnerships; review community-history submissions; provide educator or media materials; maintain and protect the website; and meet legal, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and recordkeeping obligations. 

Personal information is not sold. 

Payments 

Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. Hillbetty Books does not receive or store a customer’s complete payment-card number. 

The payment provider may collect and use payment information under its own privacy policy and terms. 

Fulfillment and Service Providers 

Information may be shared with trusted providers only as reasonably necessary for payment processing, fulfillment and shipping, website hosting, form processing, email delivery, file storage, security, analytics, and professional support. 

Community Stories and Photographs 

Stories, photographs, documents, and memories are handled according to the separate Submission Policy. 

A submission will not be displayed publicly merely because it was sent. Public use requires the permission described in the submission form or a separate written agreement. 

Children’s Privacy 

The website contains information about books for children, but its forms, store, and submission features are intended for adults, parents, guardians, educators, librarians, media representatives, and other professionals. 

Children under 13 should not submit personal information. A parent or legal guardian should contact Rachel or submit material on a child’s behalf. 

If information from a child under 13 is submitted without appropriate parental involvement or permission, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it. 

Cookies and Similar Technologies 

The website may use cookies or similar technologies required for checkout, security, forms, basic analytics, or preferences. Some functions may not work properly when necessary cookies are disabled. 

Data Retention and Security 

Information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, appropriate business and historical records, dispute resolution, legal obligations, and website protection.
